Check Our List Of THE Hottest New Gadgets

hottest new gadgets dyson zone

Dyson Zone:

A pair of noise-cancelling headphones that also have a detachable air purification system. This should make a hottest new gadget list, they are designed to protect you from pollution and noise in urban environments.

Seems like an ok idea until you a) see the price..£700+ and b) you see what you look like in them!! not for me but im sure theres a market form them for the til foil hat brigade, Mr Dyson isnt known for his flops but I was wondering what he was on the day he cam up with these.

What We Love ❤️

  • Great noise cancelling
  • decent sound quality
  • innovative air purification

What we hate 🤬

  • Price.. like a mortgage payment
  • Looks…people will think you’re from another planet
  • size…. see above

Verdict

⭐️. not for me !!!

HTC Vive XR Elite

HTC VIVE XR Elite:

A stand-alone mixed-reality headset that offers 4K resolution, a 90-Hz refresh rate, an RGB pass-through camera, and hand tracking. Designer to go up against the hugely popular quest series headset

Features

  • Convertible and compact design: The XR Elite is a high-performance, all-in-one XR headset that can transform into a pair of portable immersive glasses
  • Robust graphics performance: The headset boasts a 3840 x 1920 combined resolution, offering high-resolution visuals
  • Full-colour passthrough capability: The XR Elite features a brilliant, full-colour passthrough camera and depth sensor, enabling users to interact with virtual objects in their real-world space
  • Customisable viewing experience: Users can personalise their viewing experience with IPD (inter-pupillary distance) and diopter dials
  • 6DoF inside-out tracking: The headset’s inside-out tracking system allows for 6 degrees of freedom, providing a more immersive experience
  • Up to 10 x 10 m play space recommended: The XR Elite offers a spacious play area for users to move around in
  • 90 Hz refresh rate: The headset’s 90 Hz refresh rate ensures smooth and responsive visuals
  • Up to 110 degrees field of view: The XR Elite provides a wide field of view, enhancing the sense of immersion
  • Dual microphones for echo cancellation: The headset is equipped with dual microphones for clear audio during communication
  • Embedded speakers: The XR Elite features embedded speakers for a seamless audio experience

Vr headets should always make a hottest new gadgets list and although On paper this all seems like a good buy, but on test unfortunately it dos’t quite hit the mark on the playability stakes. The Vive XR Elite falls short in some areas. The battery life, rated at 2 hours, is closer to 1.5 hours during gaming, which is shorter than the Quest 2’s battery life. The controller and finger tracking are not the most accurate, and the headset’s 90Hz refresh rate can cause a trailing effect and a screen door effect around the periphery. The setup process can be fiddly and glitchy, and the system software is not as refined as some of its competitors.

What we Love ❤️

  • Visual acuity adjustment and pancake lens
  • Comfortable lightweight design, feels a lot easier to wear than the standard quest for long periods
  • Full motion tracking: The XR Elite has built-in full motion tracking, using its own array of four cameras and a depth sensor

What we hate 🤬

  • Battery life: The battery life of the XR Elite is rated for 2 hours, but in gaming, it is closer to 1.5 hours, which is shorter than the Quest 2’s battery life.
  • Controller and finger tracking: The XR Elite’s controller and finger tracking are not the most accurate compared to other headsets
  • Price: its been said it doesn’t really justify its price tag £1300😱 which is nearly 3 times the price of quest 3!!

Verdict

⭐️⭐️ nice and light weight with great tracking but too expensive.

razer Edge Gaming Handheld

Razer Edge Gaming Handheld:

A handheld gaming device that features a 144-Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 chipset, an active-cooled processor, and 5G support. seems like a next gen challenger to the switch to me but using andriod based games!!

Features

  • Display: 6.8″ 144Hz AMOLED FHD+ touchscreen, providing high clarity at high speeds
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon G3X Gen 1, delivering unrivaled performance
  • Storage: 6 GB LPDDR5 RAM and storage capacity not specified in the search results
  • Battery: 5,000 mAh, offering a decent amount of playtime
  • Connectivity: WiFi 6E for fast and stable internet connection
  • Audio: 2-way speakers with 2 digital microphones and THX Spatial Audio for immersive sound
  • Cameras: Front-facing 5MP camera capable of recording 1080p video at 60fps

What we love ❤️

  • Powerful Performance: The Razer Edge is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon G3X Gen 1 processor, 6 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 128 GB of SSD storage. This hardware combination delivers excellent performance for gaming and other tasks, making it a capable device for both casual and hardcore gamers.
  • High-Quality Display: The tablet features a 6.8-inch 144Hz AMOLED FHD+ touchscreen, providing incredible clarity and smoothness during gameplay. The large, vivid display enhances the gaming experience, allowing for immersive visuals and responsive touch controls.
  • Console-Class Control: The Razer Edge comes with the Kishi V2 Pro controller, a clip-on mobile game controller that offers a console-like gaming experience. The controller features HyperSense haptics, providing tactile feedback for a more engaging gameplay experience. The combination of the tablet’s powerful hardware and the Kishi V2 Pro controller allows for precise and responsive control, making it a great choice for gamers who prefer a traditional gaming setup.

What we hate 🤬

  • Outdated Android version: The Razer Edge runs on Android 12, which may not be the latest version of the operating system at the time of its release. This could potentially limit access to the latest features and security updates.
  • Limited availability of the Kishi V2 Pro Controller: The Kishi V2 Pro Controller, which is included with the Razer Edge, cannot be purchased separately. This means that if the controller gets damaged or lost, users will have to buy a new Razer Edge package to get a replacement.
  • Thicker and heavier design: Compared to other tablets, the Razer Edge has a thicker and heavier design, which may not be as comfortable for extended gaming sessions or portability.

Verdict

⭐️⭐️⭐️. seems ok but very niche. i’d sooner have a console persoanlly.

  • Premium Audio Technica AT-VM95E Cartridge: The Onyx comes with a premium Audio Technica AT-VM95E cartridge, delivering high-fidelity sound reproduction.

What we hate 🤬

  • Price: The Stream Onyx is priced at £900 which may be considered expensive compared to other record players on the market. While it offers the convenience of Sonos integration, there are alternative options available that can connect to Sonos speakers using a Sonos Amp, which may provide a more reliable streaming experience.
  • Tinkering Required for Sonos Integration: Some users have reported that the Stream Onyx may require some tinkering to properly integrate with Sonos and wired gear. This could be a potential inconvenience for users who are looking for a seamless and hassle-free setup.

Verdict

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. expensive for what it is but its quality and sound reproduction shows

Apple AirPods Pro 2:

The AirPods Pro 2, also known as the second generation of AirPods Pro, come with several new and improved features compared to their predecessors. These features enhance the audio experience, provide better control, and offer a more personalised and comfortable fit. Now personally i’ve never been a fan of apples airpods, for me they cancelled calls if i turned my head too quick and the sound quality of music reminded me of a 1980’s Harry Moss cassette player in a Mk11 ford escort (showing my age there!!) but theres are supposed to be better!

Features

  • Custom high-excursion Apple driver
  • Custom high dynamic range amplifier
  • Adaptive Audio
  • Active Noise Cancellation
  • Transparency mode
  • Conversation Awareness
  • Personalized Volume
  • Loud Noise Reduction
  • Vent system for pressure equalisation
  • Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking
  • Adaptive EQ.

What we love ❤️

  • Superior audio quality: The AirPods Pro (2nd generation) feature an upgraded H2 chip that powers smarter noise cancellation and three-dimensional sound.
  • Adaptive Audio and Active Noise Cancellation: The H2-powered AirPods Pro now feature Adaptive Audio, which automatically prioritises sounds that need your attention as you move through the world. By seamlessly blending Active Noise Cancellation with Transparency mode when you need it, Adaptive Audio delivers the right mix of sound for any environment. The AirPods Pro earbuds offer up to 2x more Active Noise Cancellation, plus Adaptive Transparency, for an immersive sound experience.
  • Comfortable and secure fit: Four pairs of silicone tips are included with the AirPods Pro to fit a wide range of ears. The tips create an acoustic seal that closes in the sound and helps keep out noise, while also securing the AirPods Pro in place The earbuds are sweat and water-resistant, making them suitable for workouts and outdoor activities

What we hate

  • Similar design: The 2nd generation AirPods Pro looks nearly identical to the 1st generation model. While this may not be a significant drawback for some users, those who were expecting a more updated or unique design may be disappointed.
  • Not the best in sound quality and ANC: The 2nd generation AirPods Pro, while offering improvements in sound quality and ANC, are not the best-sounding wireless earbuds or class-leading in ANC when compared to some competitors. Users who prioritize these features may consider other options.
  • Price: The 2nd generation AirPods Pro is priced the same as its predecessor, which may be a drawback for users who were hoping for a more affordable upgrade option. Some users may find it difficult to justify the cost of upgrading for the relatively minor improvements offered by the 2nd generation model.

Verdict

⭐️⭐️⭐️. better but not the loads better it should of been.

Sonus is taking movable audio to a new level with this small but spacial speaker. Featuring 6 drivers and wait for it…. Dolby Atmos… in a portable speaker!!! Sonus say this is the most advanced speaker they have produced and I can’t argue with them. Coming in a £449 this isn’t a budget model but Sonus have been at the top of the home smart home cinema market for a while now and this doesn’t disappoint. By the way if you’re not sure what the hype is on Dolby Atmos check my post on that subject here

Features

  • Spatial Audio: The Era 300 is designed to deliver immersive spatial audio, creating a 360-degree soundstage that envelops the listener. This is achieved through its six drivers, including a centre channel, left and right drivers, an upward-firing channel, and two woofers.

This allows for a 360-degree soundstage that envelops the listener, creating a more immersive and realistic audio experience.
  • Versatile Connectivity: The Era 300 offers various connectivity options, including WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and AirPlay 2. This allows users to stream high-quality audio from a wide range of devices and services, ensuring a seamless listening experience.
  • Multi-Functionality: In addition to its impressive audio capabilities, the Era 300 can also be used as Dolby Atmos surround speakers, delivering multi-channel rears for a maximum 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos home theatre experience. This makes it a versatile addition to any home entertainment setup.

What we hate 🤬

  • Connection Issues: Some users have reported connectivity issues with the Era 300, such as difficulty in connecting the speaker to their network or experiencing sound dropping out when using a stereo pair with a sub. These issues can be frustrating and may require troubleshooting or assistance from Sonos support.
  • Not Ideal for Stereo Music: While the Era 300 can play stereo audio, it may not provide the best stereo music experience compared to other Sonos speakers like the Sonos Five. Users who prioritise stereo music performance may find other Sonos models more suitable for their needs.

Verdict

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sonus might even be able to tempt me away from Bose with this!!

Conclusion

There is some pretty cool stuff out there this year, but i think i’ve proved there’s some pretty disappointing gear out there too, at nutty prices. I don’t mind paying a premium price for good tech that makes my life better, but don’t bring stuff out that just doesn’t justify the higher price…..we just won’t buy it, but I’ll write about it!!!!
