What Can It Do ?
It can be your digital friend by playing your music, monitoring your home whilst you’re out, hosting video calls as well as becoming your smart home hub.
But more than that, which could be of benefit to both older users and people with social anxieties, you can actually interact with Tapia and he will respond back to you with an almost human-like response. Some people can go for days without talking to people this robot could fill that gap as the A.I used will learn new responses and reactions.

What does it do?
Again based around smart home hub, so it boasts the usual music, I.O.T based info system which can control your entire smart home set up, but also its fully customisable in appearance and even voice responses, it can even have a conversation with you as you get ready in the morning ( mirror, mirror on the wall springs to mind!!)
The 27-inch HD screen weighs only 8 pounds and is about 2mm thick, it has 5 touch points on the screen, can follow voice commands and has an AI assistant built into it, but what I was most impressed with, was the feature of its own app store so that throw open a whole world of open source apps to modify your mirror to do exactly what you want

Conclusion
There certainly is some exciting gear in development out there that could really enhance peoples lives, i’ve seen robots that can cook for you, not sure how much id trust them like, but when you think how much an lonely single old person could benefit from having a virtual friend that could remind he or she when to take tablets for instance and could talk to them about the weather or the footy, id be into that and that would be on my best ai gadgets list!!
